Deutsche Bank Announces Sven Afhüppe as Global Head of Political Affairs

Deutsche Bank, the leading German bank with strong European roots and a global network, has appointed Sven Afhüppe as its Global Head of Political Affairs to increase its engagement with politicians across the world.

As a former financial journalist, Sven will help Deutsche Bank to strengthen dialogue with the political sphere based on his experience and network. This means the respected expert mainly focuses on enlarge the bank's links to Berlin, Brussels and Washington and strengthen its global network. In addition, Sven also continues the successful work of the team responsible for managing Deutsche Bank's relationships with political stakeholders. He will work closely with Christian Berendes, who is currently Global Head of Government & Regulatory Affairs, will spend most of his time on regulatory topics in the future.

The German lender said in a statement, "With this appointment, we are gaining Sven Afhüppe as a respected expert for the political and the financial landscape. He will take a great role on our global political affairs."

Information from the LinkedIn profile showed Sven left Handelsblatt at the end of last year. As a newly-created role, he will be based in Berlin and report to the CEO Christian Sewing from March 1.
