Deutsche Bank's Supervisory Board has appointed Marcus Chromik as Chief Risk Officer and Member of the Management Board, effective May 20, 2025. Chromik will succeed Olivier Vigneron, who recently announced his decision not to extend his contract, which expires on May 19, 2025.

Marcus Chromik brings over 20 years of experience in finance and risk management, including eight years as Chief Risk Officer at Commerzbank. He will join Deutsche Bank's Management Board on May 1, 2025, assuming full responsibility for the Risk function upon Vigneron’s departure.

Chromik, who holds a PhD in nuclear physics, began his banking career at Postbank in 2004, holding roles in risk and capital markets. He moved to Commerzbank in 2009, taking on senior positions in risk management before being appointed Chief Risk Officer in 2016. Most recently, he served as a non-executive director at UniCredit, a position he has stepped down from as he prepares to join Deutsche Bank.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the role, Chromik stated, "It is a great honor for me to join the Management Board of Deutsche Bank, one of the leading financial institutions in Europe and one of the very few truly global banks. I am looking forward to helping navigate the volatile and fast-changing economic environment that is expected in coming years."
