Swiss-based online bank and brokerage Dukascopy has expanded the range of tradable instruments available on its MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform, increasing the total from more than 100 to over 400 products.

The newly added instruments include gold and silver contracts, a broader selection of forex cross pairs, and cryptocurrency contracts for difference (CFDs). According to a company announcement on Thursday, all additional products are accessible on both live and demo accounts.

Dukascopy said the move forms part of its broader effort to provide wider market access and diversified trading opportunities. "We continue to place a high priority on enhancing your trading experience and helping you to achieve your goals by providing you with the necessary resources to trade global markets effectively," the bank stated.

MT5 is one of several platforms supported by Dukascopy, alongside MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and its proprietary JForex system. The MT5 platform supports multi-asset trading, including forex, commodities, indices, equities, bonds, energy products, metals and cryptocurrencies. The latest expansion increases the number of instruments within the MT5 environment while maintaining consistency between demo and live account offerings.

The platform update follows a year of broader product expansion. Previously, Dukascopy added more than 300 cross instruments, enabling trading strategies beyond U.S. dollar-based currency pairs. The bank also introduced 303 additional instruments to its JForex platform last year, covering currencies, precious metals and cryptocurrencies, including various cross-currency and non-USD combinations.

In its latest financial update, Dukascopy reported a significant improvement in profitability for the first half of 2025. On a standalone basis, the bank posted a profit of CHF 3.32 million, compared with CHF 19.8 thousand in the same period a year earlier. Consolidated profit, which includes subsidiaries, reached CHF 3.29 million, up from CHF 80.8 thousand in the first half of 2024.

Trading activity remained the primary source of revenue. Standalone trading profit totaled CHF 11.52 million, while consolidated trading profit came in at CHF 11.71 million. Commission business and related services contributed an additional CHF 1.70 million to both standalone and consolidated results.

Total assets also increased over the reporting period. Standalone assets rose to CHF 244.63 million at the end of June 2025, up from CHF 235.09 million at the end of 2024. On a consolidated basis, assets climbed to CHF 248.35 million from CHF 239.87 million.

The expansion of instruments on MT5 marks the latest step in Dukascopy's multi-platform development strategy, as the bank continues to broaden its multi-asset trading infrastructure.
