easyMarkets, Quadcode, B2Broker and Other Four Companies Are Hiring Now

This week, a number of organizations in the financial industry announced their latest layoff plans.

In the banking sector, Societe Generale is preparing to cut hundreds of jobs in its home market as part of its effort to rein in costs. More than 500 roles could be affected, according to a person familiar with the matter. On Tuesday, Bank of America announced job cuts of around 20 bankers in Asia, as plunging markets in China mainland and Hong Kong weighed on deal prospects.

In addition, Lloyds Banking Group is cutting around 1600 jobs in its branch network due to the impact of banking digitization, although the bank is also creating more than 800 roles in an expanded "relationship growth" team as it retools for a digital-first future.

In terms of financial technology field, Indonesian fintech startup Xendit is undergoing a new round of employee layoffs. Brex, an American fintech startup valued at $12.3 billion, cut 282 employees, roughly 20% of its workforce, on Tuesday, according to an email co-CEO and founder Pedro Franceschi sent to employees and posted on the company blog. 

On the contrary, American earned wage access fintech DailyPay is creating 293 jobs in Belfast as part of a £24 million investment in Northern Ireland.

Additionally, British fund manager abrdn opens new tab is poised to cut about 10% of its workforce as it seeks to rein in costs and improve its fortunes after years of bleeding client cash. The planned job cuts will amount to hundreds of staff, the source said, from a total workforce of nearly 5,000.
