EC Markets Strengthens Dubai Office with Senior Hires from Doo Group

Retail FX and CFDs broker EC Markets has appointed Omar Qumuq as Managing Director in Dubai, alongside Rohan Kumar, who joins as part of the regional leadership team. Both executives previously worked at Doo Group, where Qumuq was Head of MENA and Kumar served as Sales Director.

Qumuq brings experience from firms including STARTRADER and MultiBank, while Kumar has also held roles at Exante. The two executives joined Doo Group in 2023 from STARTRADER and now reunite at EC Markets as the broker looks to expand its presence in the Middle East.

Their move comes amid a series of high-profile departures from Doo Group. Earlier this year, a Malaysian call center linked to the company was raided by police during a wider crackdown on financial scams. More recently, Doo's D Prime operation in Cyprus laid off its entire marketing team as part of broader organizational changes.

The arrival of Qumuq and Kumar is seen as part of EC Markets' strategy to strengthen client acquisition and sales in the region. The company has not disclosed further details of its regional growth plans, but the appointments underline Dubai's role as a competitive hub for FX and CFDs brokers.
