Equinix Grows Presence in Mumbai with New Data Center

The world's digital infrastructure company Equinix announced today the opening of a new International Business Exchange (IBX) data center, MB4, in Mumbai, responding to the increasing demand for data center and interconnection services among businesses.
Equinix has invested $42 million to MB4, which is expected to be available in Q4 2023. Currently, the company has two IBX data centers in Mumbai, named MB1 and MB2, which are home to the digital infrastructure of more than 300 international and local companies.
"The increased digitalization of the economy is constantly driving the need for data center and interconnection services in India," noted Manoj Paul, Managing Director, Equinix India.
The availability of MB4 will allow Equinix to continue serving its customers' needs in India, enabling them to leverage the company's interconnection platform for efficient connectivity to multiple cloud service providers, network service providers and other businesses. "This will help existing and new customers accelerate their digital transformation journey," Manoj Paul added.
In June, Equinix unveiled its plan to open its first data center in Kuala Lumpur in Q1 2024.
Besides, the company has generated $2.02 billion revenues in the second quarter of 2023, an 11% increase over the same quarter last year.
