Equinix Reports Strong Quarterly Results and Forecasts Revenue Growth

Digital infrastructure company Equinix, Inc. has disclosed its financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2024. The company's quarterly revenues reached $2.2 billion, marking a 7% increase from the same period last year, or 8% when adjusted for normalized and constant currency. Despite a $6 million negative impact from foreign currency fluctuations, Equinix reported a 45% year-over-year increase in net income, totaling $301 million. Adjusted EBITDA exceeded $1 billion for the first time.
Operating income for the quarter was $436 million, a 20% increase from the previous quarter, attributed to strong operational performance and a gain from the sale of Equinix's Silicon Valley 12 xScale asset. The company has revised its full-year revenue forecast to between $8.692 billion and $8.772 billion, reflecting a projected increase of 6% to 7% compared to the previous year.
Equinix continues to invest in expanding its data center services, with 54 major projects underway across 36 markets in 24 countries. This includes 15 xScale projects expected to deliver over 11,000 cabinets of retail capacity and more than 30 megawatts of xScale capacity by the end of 2024.
