eToro Adds CELO to Its Crypto Offering

Fazzaco learned that eToro, an Israeli social trading and multi-asset brokerage company, has added CELO to its crypto offering.

CELO is a token aimed at making it easier to settle payments in cryptocurrency anywhere in the world between mobile devices. Instead of physical banks, this blockchain is aiming to turn phones into banking devices. Token holders are able to vote on initiatives, such as making CELO a carbon-neutral blockchain.

The addition of CELO brings the total number of cryptoassets available on eToro to 41.

In November, eToro expanded its crypto trading lineup with additions of CHZ, SUSHI, QNT and AXS. Additionally, the broker has published its financials for the third quarter of 2021​, which shows that its net trading income stands at $176 million during the period, representing a 56% jump compared to the same period last year. According to the company, the growth was bolstered by the solid trading across crypto assets.
