eToro, an Israel-based multi-asset trading and investing platform, announced on Monday (December 18, 2023) the promotion of Massimo Citoni to Regional Manager for Italy, with remits of leading the company's operations in Italy, focusing on driving market growth and achieving operational excellence.

Massimo has been with eToro since 2015, serving as an Account Manager initially. He successfully managed high net worth client relationships in Italy, demonstrating a deep understanding of client needs and the Italian market landscape, notes the company. In 2023, he was promoted to Head of the Italian Desk.

In addition, Massimo is a certified financial advisor, accredited by both CySEC and ASIC.

In the new role, he will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with local entities in Italy and overseeing all marketing initiatives within the region. Besides, he will oversee customer retention activities, to elevate the experience for both Italian clients and members of the eToro Club.

"We are thrilled to promote Massimo Citoni to the role of Regional Manager for Italy. His exceptional track record and deep understanding of the Italian customer make him the perfect fit for this position. Massimo's dedication and insight have been invaluable to eToro, and we are confident that under his leadership, eToro will achieve new heights in the Italian market," commented Etay Cohen, Chief Customer Officer at eToro.

Also, Massimo will join the board of AssoFintech, an Italian Fintech and Insurtech association.

"Taking on this new role at eToro is a privilege. We are committed to continuing to grow our presence in Italy and to being an active industry participant," said Massimo Citoni. "I am excited to join the Board of AssoFintech and to deepen our partnership with the Fintech District to help advance the fintech ecosystem in Italy."

Late last month, Fazzaco reported that eToro has received approval for a Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of ADGM to operate as a broker for securities, derivatives, and cryptoassets in the United Arab Emirates.
