eToro Granted Virtual Asset Registration in Spain

eToro, the world's leading social investment network, announced today that it has received the registration in Spain allowing it to operate as a service provider of exchange of virtual currency for fiat currency and electronic wallet custody services in the country. 

The Bank of Spain has granted eToro (Europe) Digital Assets Ltd. the registration on 29 June 2023, the broker unveiled.

"As a multi-asset platform which has been a long standing supporter of crypto and blockchain technology, we are proud to have received this registration from the Bank of Spain," said Tali Salomon, eToro’s Regional Manager for Iberia and LatAm.

"This registration is a testament to our commitment to operating a growing business which prioritises consumer protection while also nurturing innovation and ensuring access for individual investors."

This comes after eToro NY LLC's securing its money transmitter and virtual currency licenses​, the later known as BitLicense, from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) in February.
