eToro Inks Sponsorship Deal with Polish Football Club Lechia Gdansk

eToro, a leading social trading provider, has signed a sponsorship deal with Lechia Gdansk, a Polish professional football club based in Gdańsk, to promote its brand.

Founded in 1945, Lechia Gdansk is one of the top football clubs in the country. It competes in both domestic and European leagues that will help to strengthen the branding of the broker.

The two parties did not disclose the tenure of the new deal, but said it was for the ‘long-term’. Neither of the involved financials has been revealed.

“Poland is an important market for eToro and through this partnership, we hope to raise awareness to more people of the potential to grow their wealth through investing,” said Nir Smulewicz, Vice President of Marketing at eToro. “We will be working with the club to make the financial markets more accessible, to help bring fans closer to the action and educate them on investing.”

With the partnership, eToro is planning to directly tap the fanbase of the Polish football club by offering free investment educational content. It might have received other marketing opportunities but did not detail any of it in the official press release.

​As Fazzaco reported earlier, eToro has inked sponsorship deals with 8 clubs in the Italian Serie A for the coming 2021/22 season​. These clubs are Bologna F.C., Cagliari Calcio, Genoa C.F.C., U.C. Sampdoria, U.S. Sassuolo Calcio, Spezia Calcio, Udinese Calcio and Hellas Verona F.C.
