eToro Says It Fixed Login and Deposits Issues

eToro, a leading social investing platform, published an update saying that it has resolved the issues with making new deposits and logging on its platform.

On January 19, 2021, the broker first tweeted that users are experiencing an issue with depositing at 12:00 noon GMT. 

“Please note that the deposit function is currently unavailable on the eToro platform. Our teams are working to resolve this as quickly as possible and we apologize for the inconvenience caused,”the company said in a statement.

Further, the company posted again, saying that some of its users were experiencing intermittent login issues. The company said that its teams were working to resolve this as quickly as possible.

After less than 10 minutes, the company posted that the login issue was resolved. However, the deposit incident was resolved at 14:41 GMT and functionality has been fully restored.

Earlier in September, eToro's Chief Solutions Officer, Tuval Chomut, assured clients that the company platforms can handle volumes at current activity levels, and they are working hard to minimize the risk of an issue like this from happening again. He added that they will continue to improve systems so that it can handle volumes up to 100x current levels as eToro continues to add more assets.
