eToro to Acquire Argentina's LB Finanzas in Latin American Expansion

Trading and investment platform eToro has agreed to acquire Argentine fintech LB Finanzas as part of its expansion into Latin America, with Argentina set to become its regional hub.

The proposed acquisition will give eToro an established local platform offering investment products and payment services to retail customers.

Founded in Rosario in 2018, LB Finanzas serves hundreds of thousands of users through an app supporting U.S. equities, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), cryptocurrencies and money market funds. The platform also provides Argentine peso and U.S. dollar accounts for individuals and businesses.

eToro CEO Yoni Assia said the acquisition would combine LB Finanzas' local market expertise with eToro's international operations and investment products. In a statement, Assia said the deal marks an important step in the company's commitment to building a localized presence in Latin America.

LB Finanzas CEO Camilo Cristia confirmed that existing customers would experience no immediate changes following the announcement.

The transaction represents eToro's fourth acquisition agreement or completed acquisition in 2026. Earlier deals include self-custodial cryptocurrency wallet provider Zengo in April, Israeli cryptocurrency exchange Bit2C in May and U.S. brokerage TradeZero in August.

LB Finanzas operates under the supervision of Argentina's National Securities Commission and central bank. Financial terms were not disclosed, and the acquisition remains subject to customary closing conditions.
