Euroclear Closes Acquisition of Goji, Further Expands Its Presence in Private Market

Post trade services provider Euroclear announced the completion of its acquisition of Goji, a leading provider of investor platform technology and services, enabling Euroclear to provide a one stop shop offering to clients across a spectrum of products including mutual and alternative funds, ETFs and private market funds. The deal was initially revealed in the end of last year.
Euroclear will combine its open infrastructure administering €3.1 trillion worth of funds globally and Goji’s innovative technology to provide a digital platform for streamlining trading and custody process, increasing accessibility, and reducing the cose of access to private market funds.
Euroclear stated that "the acquisition of Goji aligns with Euroclear's strategy of expanding its reach and capabilities in private markets, building upon its successful acquisition of the MFEX funds distribution platform".
"We are extremely pleased to partner with Euroclear to provide the technological infrastructure necessary to unlock private markets for all investor groups," commented David Genn, CEO of Goji. "The integration of Euroclear’s extensive cross-border fund network with Goji’s technology and experience allows us to deliver a solution that will transform the private markets industry."
"We are delighted to be working with Goji," added Lieve Mostrey, CEO of Euroclear. "The acquisition enables Euroclear to diversify and expand its product and service offerings in private markets, providing clients with a comprehensive suite of solutions catering to their evolving needs. Through our collaboration with Goji we will build a global network for private funds."
The acquisition is backed by Euroclear’s strong balance sheet. According to its financial report for the first quarter of 2023, the company has achieved continuous growth for multiple quarters, with a total net profit of nearly EUR 800 million.
