Euronext Posts 14.9% Monthly Decrease in FX Market for December 2022

Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading data for December 2022, showing a decrease of 14.9% in the total volume of FX market on a MoM basis.
Cash Market
According to the report, the transaction number of total cash market for the month came in at 50,120,726, a decrease of 24% compared to 65,775,002 in November and also a decrease of 24% compared to 65,722,466 in December 2021.
The ADV (Daily Average Volume) of cash market accounted for 2,386,701, down 20% from 2,989,773 in last month and down 16% from December 2021's 2,857,499.
The transaction value for the month was €198,699 million, down 17% on a monthly basis (November 2022: €240,002 million), and down 20% on a yearly basis (December 2021: €247,346 million).
Derivatives Market
For the derivatives market, the total volume of futures was 4,579,115 lots, decreasing 11.3% compared to 5,159,735 lots in November and decreasing 22.7% compared to 5,925,990 lot in the same period of 2021.
The total volume of options accounted for 6,388,331 lots, falling 33.6% from November's 9,627,305 and down 21.5% from 8,135,589 of December 2021.
Euronext FX
In terms of FX market, the total volume of Euronext FX reached $394,561 million, down 14.9% compared to $463,708 million in November 2022 and down 3.1% compared to $407,263 million in December 2021.
The ADV Euronext FX came in at $17,935 million, falling 14.9% from $21,078 million of November 2022 but slightly up 1.3% compared to $17,707 million in December 2021.
