Euronext Posts 29.9% YoY Increase in FX Volumes in August

Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading volumes for the month of August, posting a significant increase in FX volume on a YoY basis.
According to the report, the transaction number of total cash market for the month accounted for 60,484,724, down 4% from July's figure of 62,957,122, and down 6% from last August's figure of 64,488,084. The ADV of cash market in August was 2,629,771, decreasing 12% on a MoM basis, and decreasing 10% on a YoY basis.
In terms of the derivatives market, the total volume of futures was 4,871,019 lots, falling 7.8% from 5,285,957 lots in July and falling 6.2% from 5,193,125 lots in last August. The total volume of options accounted for 6,953,030 lots, a drop of 9.2% compared to 7,653,730 lots of last month and a drop of 6.6% compared to 7,442,808 lots of last August.
Moreover, the total volume of Euronext's FX came in at $452,344 million, slightly up 0.6% compared to the prior month's $449,861 million and showing a significant increase of 29.9% compared to $348,138 million in the same period last year. The ADV Euronext FX for August was $19,667 million, rising 24.3% on a YoY basis.
