Euronext Reports 11.8% Monthly Drop in July FX Volumes

Fazzaco learned that Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading volumes for the month of July 2022, reporting an decrease in FX volume from the previous month.

According to the figures, Euronext's FX volume for July came in at $449.9 billion, which is a decline of 11.8% percent compared to the prior month's $510.1 billion. Additionally, it represented a yearly increase of 12,6 percent from $399.6 billion, which was witnessed in the same period last year.

As a result, the average daily volume (ADV) for the forex market in July was $21.4 billion, another decline on a monthly basis of 7,6 percent compared with June's number of $23.2 billion. On a yearly basis, the ADV FX volume increased by 17.9 percent from $18.2 billion in the same period last year.

In terms of the derivatives market, the total futures for July accounted for 5,285,957 lots, decreasing 19.7 percent the figure seen in the prior last month of 6,584,335 lots. The total options were 7,653,730 lots, a drop of 20.1 percent compared to June 2022, whose number was 9,576,429 lots.

Moreover, the total cash market number of transactions accounted for 62,957,122, down 9 percent from June's figure of 69,409,076. The ADV of cash market in July was 2,997,958.
