Euronext Reports 13.9% Monthly Decrease in April FX Volumes

Fazzaco learned that Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading volumes for the month of April 2022, reporting a decrease in FX volume from the previous month.
According to the figures, Euronext's FX spot volume for April came in at $517 million, down by 13.9% compared to the prior month's number of $600 million. the average daily volume (ADV) for the forex market for the month stood at $24 million, 5.7% lower than the previous month's $26 million.

In terms of the derivatives market, the total futures accounted for 14 million lots, down by 26.6% from March. Additionally, it represented a yearly decrease of 6.6% from the same period in 2021.
Moreover, the ADV of cash market of all buys and sell trades dropped by 30% from March's €17,006 million to €11,900 million. Total trades in the cash market fell by 40% from 113 million trades in March to 68 million trades in April.
