Euronext Reports 14.9% Monthly Rise in November FX Volumes

Fazzaco learned that Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading volumes for the month of November, reporting a significant increase in FX volume from the previous month.
According to the figures, Euronext’s FX volume for November came in at $466.1 billion, which is up 14.9% compared to the prior month’s number of $405.8 billion. Additionally, it represented a yearly increase of 3% from $452.7 billion, which was witnessed in the same period last year.
As a result, the average daily volume (ADV) for the forex market in November was $21.19 billion, another surge on a monthly basis of 9.6% compared with October’s number of $19.32 billion. On a yearly basis, the ADV FX volume fell by 1.7% from $21.56 billion in the same period last year.
In terms of the derivatives market, the total futures for November accounted for 5,958,956 lots, up 11.3% from the figure seen in the prior last month of 5,352,446 lots. The total options were 12,812,205 lots, up 39.2% compared to October 2021, whose number was 9,204,323 lots.
Moreover, the total cash market number of transactions accounted for 83,859,356, up 12% from Octobe’s figure of 75,060,508. The ADV of cash market in November was 3,811,789.
Last month, Euronext has posted its financial results for the third quarter of 2021, showing that its revenue enjoyed a good growth of YoY 71.2% to €350.6 million, driven by double digit organic growth in listing, trading and clearing activities, and significant contribution of the Borsa Italiana Group.
