Euronext Reports 20.1% Monthly Rise in March FX Volumes

Fazzaco learned that Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading volumes for the month of March 2022, reporting an increase in FX volume from the previous month.
According to the figures, Euronext's FX volume for March came in at $600.6 billion, which is up 20.1% compared to the prior month's number of $500 billion. Additionally, it represented a yearly increase of 23.3% from $486.9 billion, which was witnessed in the same period last year.
As a result, the average daily volume (ADV) for the forex market in March was $26.1 billion, another surge on a monthly basis of 4.4% compared with February's number of $25 billion. On a yearly basis, the ADV FX volume increased by 23.3% from $21.17 billion in the same period last year.
In terms of the derivatives market, the total futures for March accounted for 7,249,130 lots, up 22.2% from the figure seen in the prior last month of 5,931,734 lots. The total options were 12,409,431 lots, increased 16.5% compared to February 2022, whose number was 10,649,622 lots.
Moreover, the total cash market number of transactions accounted for 113,817,536, up 31% from February's figure of 86,660,532. The ADV of cash market in March was 4,948,589.
