Euronext Reports 6.1% Monthly Dip in July FX Volume

Euronext recently reported a decline in FX trading demand as well as most of the other markets in its July trading volume metrics report. All figures, however, managed to remain stable on a yearly basis.
The total trading volume on Euronext FX for July came in at over $399.6 billion, which dropped 6.1% from the previous month, yet only 2% YoY. The average daily volume (ADV) is $18.1 billion, also 6.1% decline from June. But the FX ADV, on the other hand, hopped 2.4% compared to what was reported last month.
Year-to-date demand, on the other hand, is bleak, with the total falling by 13% and the ADV down by 11.9%. In absolute terms, Euronext FX transacted $2.96 trillion in forex products in the first seven months of the current year.
In the futures markets, demand for stocks fell 17.6% month-over-month and 3.9% year-over-year. The overall monthly volume of the index and individual stocks fell as well, with only commodities volume increasing by 20% compared to June and 23% compared to July last year.
Though the number of cash transactions grew modestly on a monthly basis, transaction value fell by 4%. Year-over-year transaction volume decreased while transaction value increased.
