Euronext Sees 9.5% Monthly Increase in Total Volume of FX Markets for Jan. 2023

Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, has released its trading volumes for January 2023, seeing an increase of 9.5% in the total volume of FX markets on a MoM basis.
Cash Market
According to the financial report, the transaction number of total cash market for the month came in at 58,715,576, an increase of 17% on a MoM basis (December 2022: 50,118,488) and a decrease of 29% on a YoY basis (January 2022: 82,330,210).
The ADV of cash market for January 2023 was 2,668,890, up 12% on MoM basis (December 2022: 2,386,595) and down 32% on YoY basis (January 2022: 3,920,486).
The transaction value for the month accounted for €215,465 million, increasing 10% on a monthly basis (December 2022: €195,685 million) and dropping 26% on a yearly basis (January 2022: € 292,350 million)
Derivatives Market
The total volume of futures was 4,525,694 lots, falling 1.2% from 4,579,115 lots in the prior month and falling 18.8% from 5,572,530 lots in January 2022.
The total volume of options reached 9,233,065 lots, a jump of 44.5% compared to 6,388,331 lots in December 2022 and a drop of 20.0% compared to 11,539,625 lots in the same period of last year.
FX Market
The total volume of Euronext's FX came in at $432,221 million, raising 9.5% from $394,561 million in the previous month and dropping 7.5% from $469,188 million in last January.
The ADV Euronext FX for January 2023 was $19,646 million, increasing 9.5% compared to $17,935 million in December 2022 and decreasing 12.1% compared to $22,342 million in January 2022.
