Euronext Sees Increase in FX Trading Volume for the Second Consecutive Month in June 2023

Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, released its trading data for June 2023, witnessing an increase of 3.8% in FX trading volume on a MoM basis for the month.
Cash market
Number of transactions of total cash market for the month came in at 48,736,140 contracts, 5% lower than 51,397,410 contracts in May 2023 and 30% lower than 69,409,076 contracts in June 2022.
ADV of cash market reached 2,215,279 contracts, down 5% compared to 2,336,246 contracts in May 2023 and down 30% compared to 3,154,958 contracts in the same period of 2022.
Transaction value for the month amounted to €213,609 million, a decrease of 3% on a MoM basis (May 2023: €220,560 million) and a decrease of 12% on a YoY basis (June 2022: €243,180 million).
ADV in the market was €9,709 million, dropping 3% compared to €10,025 million in the prior month and dropping 12% compared to €11,054 million in the same period of last year.
Derivatives Market
Total volume of futures came in at 5,150,209 lots for June 2023, an increase of 15.6% compared to 4,453,595 lots in May 2023 and an decrease of 21.8% compared to 6,584,335 lots in June 2022.
Total volume of options for the month amounted to 8,152,652 lots, rising 2.2% on a monthly basis (May 2023: 7,978,146 lots) and dropping 14.9% on a yearly basis (June 2022: 9,576,429 lots).
Euronext FX
Total volume of Euronext's FX for the month recorded $514,253 million, an increase of 3.8% compared to $495,630 million in May 2023 and an increase of 0.8% compared to $510,089 million in June 2022.
ADV of Euronext FX came in at $23,375 million, 8.5% higher than $21,549 million in the prior month and 0.8% higher than $23,186 million in the same period of last year.
