Euronext Sees Overall Drops Across Markets for April 2023

Euronext, the largest stock exchange in Europe, released its trading data for April 2023, revealing overall drops across markets.
Cash market
Number of transactions of total cash market for the month came in at 45,573,578, 36% lower than 70,763,586 in March 2023 and 34% lower than 68,632,054 in April 2022.
ADV of cash market reached 2,531,865, down 18% compared to 3,076,678 in March 2023 and down 30% compared to 3,612,213 in April 2022.
Transaction value for the month amounted to €185,483 million, a decrease of 36% on a MoM basis (March 2023: €292,022 million) and a decrease of 18% on a YoY basis (April 2022: €226,096 million).
ADV in the market was €10,305 million, decreasing 19% compared to €12,697 million in the prior month and decreasing 13% compared to €11,900 million in the year period of last year.
Derivatives Market
Total volume of futures came in at 4,249,562 lots for April 2023, a decrease of 33.0% compared to 6,344,171 lots in March 2023 and an decrease of 43.0% compared to 7,456,002 lots in April 2022.
Total volume of options for the month amounted to 6,918,618 lots, dropping 36.6% on a monthly basis (March 2023: 10,918,181 lots) and dropping 0.9% on a yearly basis (April 2022: 6,978,426 lots).
Euronext FX
Total volume of Euronext's FX for the month recorded $393,853 million, a decrease of 24.4% compared to $521,214 million in March 2023 and a decrease of 23.9% compared to $517,292 million in April 2022.
ADV of Euronext FX came in at $19,693 million, 13.1% lower than $22,661 million in the prior month and 20.1% lower than $24,633 million in the same period of last year.
