European Fintech bunq Appoints Jon Fath as Chief Operating Officer

Amsterdam-based challenger bank bunq announced that it has appointed Jon Fath as the company's new Chief Operating Officer.

Fath joins bunq with rich working experience. He has worked in 20+ countries in areas covering innovation, product development, sales, operations, service, strategy, and cost management. Prior to bunq, Fath worked at Transmetrics as CEO and Board Member. Before that he spent two years at German equipment rental and sharing platform Equivvy. He also worked at HNA Capital, the financial services division of Chinese conglomerate HNA.

"After an amazing adventure with Transmetrics, I have decided to move on to a new challenge, I will remain an active board member and will assist with my expertise and passion for AI," said Fath in response to his new appointment on social media. 

Fazzaco reported that last month bunq announced the completion of the largest Series A round ​for a European fintech company led by British private equity firm Pollen Street Capital, raising €193 million. And the financing takes the firm's valuation to €1.6 billion.
