Exclusive: Intercontinental Exchange Posts 6.7% Monthly Decline in November FX Volume

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., a leading global provider of data, technology and market infrastructure, has reported November 2022 trading volume and related revenue statistics, revealing a 6.7 percent MoM decline in FX volume.

More specifically, the exchange registered a total volume of FX contracts of 1.1 million, a month-over-month decrease of 6.7 percent compared to 1.2 million in October 2022. On a yearly basis, the FX trading demand increased by 54 percent from last year's 736,683.

The Average daily volume (ADV) of FX contracts for the month reached 54,017, compared to 57,881 in the previous month and last year's 35,080. In addition, the exchange's FX volume for the year to date came in at 10.9 million, an increase of 25.6 percent compared to 8.6 million for the same period in 2021.

The overall financial products, which also include interest rates and equity indices, registered a total volume of 46.5 million and an ADV of 2.1 million, representing a month-over-month decrease of 6.2 percent and 9.7 percent respectively.
