Exclusive: Nomura Promotes Simon Yates to Global Head of Equities, NSI

Fazzaco learned that Nomura Holdings, Inc., a Japanese financial holding company and a principal member of the Nomura Group, today announced the promotion of Simon Yates, its Global Head of Equity Trading and International Head of Equities, NSI to Global Head of Equities, NSI. The appointment is subject to local regulatory and other necessary procedures.

With over 20 years experiences in equities business, Simon joined Nomura in August 2021 as Managing Director before being promoted to Senior Managing Director in April 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile. Prior to Nomura, Simon had held leading roles of Equity Derivatives in several biggest banks including Citi and Credit Suisse, the later had been acquired by its rival UBS recently​. He started his financial career in 1992 at J.P.Morgan, where he served as an Equity Derivatives Traders for over five years.

Earlier this month, another management change had also been announced on Nomura's website, appointing Joshua Lukeman​ as its Managing Director and Head of US Delta One Index.
