Ex-CMC CFO Albert Soleiman Moves into Digital Services Sector

Albert Soleiman, who stepped down as Chief Financial Officer of CMC Markets earlier this year, has joined a London-based firm providing web design, development, and online marketing services. The update was reflected in his LinkedIn profile, marking his move from financial services into the broader digital business sector.
Soleiman had a long association with CMC Markets, having first joined the London-headquartered broker in 2005. Over the years, he served as Tax Manager for Asia Pacific, later becoming Head of Tax in 2008, and subsequently Head of Client Asset Management. He left the company in 2019 to take on the role of Global Tax Director at blockchain company Bitfury, before rejoining CMC in 2020 as Group Head of Corporate Development.
During his second tenure at CMC, Soleiman played a key role in launching CMC Invest and became Head of CMC Invest UK, eventually rising to CFO. In February, he left the role with immediate effect. CMC confirmed his departure at the time, noting that the decision was made jointly by the company's board and Soleiman himself.
CMC's CEO, Lord Peter Cruddas, thanked him in a statement: "On behalf of CMC Markets plc, I would like to thank our outgoing CFO, Albert Soleiman, for his contributions to the firm over his long tenure with the company and in his roles as CFO and as a director. I wish him the very best in his new endeavors."
The broker has yet to disclose who will succeed Soleiman as CFO. In the meantime, leadership responsibilities in related areas have shifted, with David Fineberg stepping in as Chief Executive Officer of CMC Markets Investments Limited, which operates CMC Invest. Fineberg also continues to serve as Deputy CEO of CMC Markets Group.
Earlier in his career, Soleiman worked as a Tax Consultant at KPMG and as a Senior Tax Advisor at William Buck. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he has spent nearly two decades building expertise across finance, taxation, and digital assets. His latest move highlights a shift into a different sector of the digital economy after years in brokerage and fintech.
