Fazzaco learned that James O'Neill has resigned from the Executive Director role at FairMarkets, an ASIC regulated broker, and moved to Blueberry Markets, the Australian-based rival.

A lawyer before November 2015, James switched to brokerage sector, joining FairMarkets. He spent the last eight years at FairMarkets, having served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from May 2020 to January 2021, when the broker was sold to the GK Group. Since then, he was named Country Head where he focused on building Fairmarkets to an even greater brokerage house and exceeding the company's Australian customers financial expectations and needs.

"Excited to announce that I am now a Blueberrian! For the last 7 years I’ve watched the incredible and exponential journey of Blueberry Markets as an outsider with equal measure of admiration and envy. Day 1 and what is already apparent is the great culture that has incubated this great company. Looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and joining such a high performing team!" James shared today on LinkedIn.

James holds Master of Laws from University of Sydney. He has not specified his new role at Blueberry Markets yet.

This appointment follows Blueberry Markets' promotion of Jack Fung to its Chief Financial Officer.
