Fazzaco Reports: Client Account Profit/Loss Ratio of 30 Brokers in August 2023

Fazzaco collected the data of profit/loss ratio of client accounts from 30 brokers in August 2023. This time, some brokers whose data had not been updated for a long time, such as HYCM, were excluded to avoid affecting the average data. The specific data are shown in the table below:


Among the 30 brokers this month, an average of 27.21% of client accounts achieved profits, while 72.79% of customer accounts suffered losses. Compared with the average data in July, the loss rate of client accounts decreased by 1.15%.
FxPro ranked first with a 40% profit share of customer accounts. It is worth mentioning that FxPro's publicly disclosed loss rate dropped sharply from 83.39% in July to 60% this month, a decrease of 23.39%.
Teletrade ranked second with a 35.42% profit rate of client accounts. Compared with the loss rate of 69.66% in July, Teletrade's loss rate dropped to 64.58% this month, a decrease of 5.08%.
The other brokers in the top 5 for account profitability were Saxo Bank (35%), ADS Securities (35%) and ThinkMarkets (33.05%).
The highest loss rate of client accounts was Capital Index, with 85.42 out of every 100 clients losing money, which was consistent with July. In addition, Pepperstone (82.7%), Plus500 (81%), Admirals (81%) and Swissquote (80%) all had more than 80% of client accounts losing money.

From the table above, it can be seen that compared with July 2023, among the 30 brokers this month, a total of 12 brokers had a lower month-on-month loss rate of client accounts (marked green), 3 brokers had a higher month-on-month loss rate of client accounts (marked red), and the rest remained unchanged. The profit/loss ratio data of all brokers' client accounts this month improved to some extent compared with last month. Among them, FxPro had the most significant improvement in its month-on-month change, as mentioned above, its loss rate dropped by 23.39%. In addition, Teletrade (-5.08%) and Capital.com (-5%) also had a month-on-month drop of 5% or more.
Compared with August 2022, among the 29 brokers (excluding Capital.com), a total of 19 brokers had a lower year-on-year loss ate of client accounts (marked green), and 10 brokers had a higher year-on-year loss rate of client accounts (marked red). Among them, the brokers with significant changes include: Pepperstone (up 7.7% year-on-year) and FxPro (down 24.72% year-on-year).
