Fazzaco Reports: Client Account Profit/Loss Ratio of 31 Brokers in September 2023

Fazzaco collected the data of profit/loss ratio of client accounts from 31 brokers in September 2023. The brokers we have in this month-on-month comparison were the same as last month. The specific data are shown in the table below:


Among the 31 brokers this month, an average of 27.34% of client accounts achieved profits, while 72.66% of client accounts suffered losses. Compared with the average data in August, the loss rate of client accounts decreased by 0.13%.
Valutrades ranked first with a 46% profit rate of client accounts, followed by Teletrade with a 35.42% profit rate. FxPro, which had a 40% profit rate and ranked first in August, dropped to 20.72% this month.
ActivTrades and Saxo Bank tied for third with a 35% profit rate. The other brokers with more than 30% of client accounts winning money were JFD Brokers (33.04%), ADS Securities (33%), ThinkMarkets (31.69%), TeraFX (30.12%), FXCM (30%) and IG Group (30%).
The highest loss rate of client accounts went to Capital Index, with 85.42 out of every 100 clients losing money, which was consistent with August (the broker possibly failed to update the data in time). In addition, One Financial Markets (82.70%), Pepperstone (81.7%), Plus500 (81%), and Swissquote (80%) all had more than 80% of client accounts losing money.

From the table above, it can be seen that compared with August 2023, among the 30 brokers this month, a total of 3 had a lower month-on-month loss rate (marked green), 4 brokers had a higher month-on-month loss rate (marked red), and the remaining 23 brokers remained unchanged (or did not update their data in time). The broker with the most significant month-on-month change was FxPro, as mentioned above, its loss rate increased by 19.28%. Interestingly, FxPro's performance this month contrasted sharply with last month, when it had the biggest improvement in its loss rate (dropped 23.39%).
The other three brokers with an increased loss rate were ThinkMarkets (up 1.36% month-on-month), ADS Securities (up 2% month-on-month) and Capital.com (up 5.59% month-on-month); the three brokers with an improved loss rate were ActivTrades (-5%), Admirals (-7%) and Dukascopy (-1.44%).
In terms of year-on-year, compared with September 2022, among the 29 brokers (excluding Capital.com), a total of 20 had a lower year-on-year loss rate (marked green), and 9 brokers had a higher year-on-year loss rate (marked red). Among them, the brokers with significant changes include: iFOREX Europe (down 15.21% year-on-year) and Pepperstone (up 7.7% year-on-year).
