Fazzaco Weekly Digest: MAS to Roll out a Framework; Pepperstone Announces TradingView Integration; Temenos Lands Wins in Slovakia and Iraq

1. MAS to Roll out a Framework for Equitable Sharing of Losses Arising from Scams​

On Feburary 4th, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) updated that banks in Singapore have substantially implemented the additional measures to bolster the security of digital banking announced on 19 January 2022. The measures, taken together, provide a significant added layer of security to protect customers' funds. MAS is working with the industry to evaluate longer-term measures to be implemented in the coming months, as well as to develop a framework for equitable sharing of losses arising from scams.

MAS aims to publish the framework for public consultation within the next three months. Other than the sharing of losses, the consultation will also cover the responsibilities of other key parties in the ecosystem.

2. Pepperstone Announces TradingView Integration​

Pepperstone has announced its new partnership with industry leading social charting platform TradingView. From Tuesday, Pepperstone's customers around the world can gain access to TradingView's advanced charts and analysis, powerful trading tools and interact with the world's largest social network of traders.

TradingView's community and super-charting features, combined with Pepperstone's transparent pricing, fast execution, extensive product offering and award-winning client service, will see great opportunities for traders in the future.

3. Banking Software Developer Temenos Lands Wins in Slovakia and Iraq​

Temenos, a Geneva-based banking software solutions provider, has signed Tatra banka in Slovakia and ZainCash in Iraq for its Multifonds and payments platforms, respectively.

Tatra banka will consolidate multiple systems on a single, cloud-native platform, the vendor says.

Elsewhere, an Iraqi digital wallet, ZainCash, has chosen Temenos' software for core processing and payments.

4. Interactive Brokers Reports 18% M/M Jump in DARTs in January 2022​

Interactive Brokers, an automated global electronic broker, has reported its Electronic Brokerage monthly performance metrics for January 2022, which shows 2.621 million Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs), 20% lower than prior year and 18% higher than prior month.

The company further unveiled that in January, IBKR PRO clients' total cost of executing and clearing U.S. Reg.-NMS stocks through IB was about 4.6 basis points of trade money, as measured against a daily VWAP6 benchmark (3.9 basis points net cost for the rolling twelve months).

5. Binance Seeks to Expand into Russia​

Binance, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, is seeking to extend its operations to Russia despite a recently proposed ban in the country.

According to Gleb Kostarev, Binance's Eastern European Director, Binance is anticipating a progressive regulatory approach from Russia, which might serve as a model for comparable rules in adjacent countries.

6. OANDA' Heads of Retail Sales, PR Exit Company as Departures Continue

OANDA, a global leader in online multi-asset trading services, has announced the departures of two senior executives, John Murphy and Melinda Earsdon.

Mr. Murphy, Head of UK & Global Head of Retail Sales of OANDA, has departed his role. He joined the brokerage back to July 2014. Prior to joining OANDA, he worked at Alpari UK Ltd and at FXCM.

OANDA has faced a wave of executive departures last year and early this year, including Benjamin Susanna, David Hodge and Chantelle Johnson.

7. Chris Georghiou Joins BlackBull Markets as Business Development Manager​

BlackBull Markets has announced that Chris Georghiou has joined the company as Business Development Manager, effective immediately.
