Paul has been a member of the Panel since 2015.

According to FCA's Chair Charles Randell, Paul, as a long-term number of the Panel, appreciates the critical role the Panel plays in ensuring the effectiveness of the FCA's regulation. Charles said that as the FCA tackles the impact of the Brexit and the coronavirus pandemic, the regulatory body's governance will continue to focus on the robust and constructive challenge of the Panel. He believes that Paul will continue the excellent work of Tulsi.

"I would like to thank Tulsi for her contribution as both a member and Chair, and especially for quickly adapting the Panel's working practices in the early days of the pandemic, allowing it to provide timely input into the FCA's work," added Charles.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul said that the industry and the regulator today are facing unprecedented challenges, so it is especially important that the FCA can secure the support of senior industry practitioners. He look forward to working together with other members of the Panel and leveraging their broad experience across a range of sectors to help the FCA earn the trust and confidence of the public in financial services.
