Job title - Director of Innovation Ecosystem
Fidelity has a strong focus on growth and innovation. The India center partners will all business lines providing world class Technology, Operations and Analytics skills and solutions. The India center also nurtures an Innovation program that helps address business priorities. Your job will be to become a maven of your region’s innovation ecosystem in order to identify, track, synthesize and evangelize the ideas that will matter most to Fidelity, and provoke action that leads to growth faster than it would occur otherwise. Your focus will be on partnering in the external ecosystem in India and Asia – primarily with startups, startup incubators and accelerators – to identify the most inspiring technological and human-behavior-evolution opportunities, and to rapidly convert those to strategically supported POC activity by gaining strategic sponsor support.
The Purpose of Your Role
Your main purpose will be to originate engagement opportunities between Business units and the most relevant external thought leaders, research oriented academic institutes and start-ups that can accelerate Fidelity’s technology and business priorities. You will match a business need with the set of solutions and/or research initiatives, seed proof-of-concepts and transition the engagements to business units.
Your deliverables can be senior executives’ events (innovation trips, fairs, networking events, online events, etc.), executive briefings, and the commencement of POC’s.
The Value You Deliver
- You work closely with Fidelity’s management team, understand their strategic intent and use it to scan the innovation ecosystem for relevant individuals and companies;
- You assess and filter external thought leadership and partnerships opportunities;
- You deliver opportunities to engage with the relevant external StartUps / Academic institutes you have identified (innovation trips, fairs, networking events, online events, newsletters, blogs);
Technical & Behavioral
- You have a keen understanding of enterprise and consumer technology and the ability to translate a new technology / trend in business terms;
- You can build frameworks that map the external ecosystem against Fidelity strategic intent;
- You can effectively communicate and engage with all levels of the organization, in verbal and written form, with both business and technology leaders;
- You can establish yourself as a thought leader internally and externally on specific technologies and/or business opportunities; ability to build strong relationships with a meaningful network of high-level thought leaders;
- You are naturally drawn to share your insights in an accessible and inspiring way, engaging internal audiences with apparent ease;
- You are a self-starter, with the ability to ideate, plan and execute initiatives; thanks to you, things just happen;
- You have a proven understanding of both the Startup and the Corporate environments, and can value pros and cons of both; you understand how startups and corporates can establish mutually beneficial relationships and ideally have a proven track record on establishing successful partnerships;

The Expertise We’re Looking For
- You must have a 10+ years’ real world experience at the juncture between business and technology, as a corporate / technology / product strategist, corporate innovator, strategy consultant, leader at a startup or a startup incubator / accelerator;
- Connections and interactions with the start-up ecosystems across FinTech / RegTech / InsureTech / Emerging Tech/ Blockchain / Cyber.
- A growth mindset, with an outstanding ability to structure the exploration and reporting of the unknown, a verbal and written communication style that captures the attention of senior executives, and a passion for networking and relationship management;
- Engineering degree preferred; MBA is a plus;
