Fireblocks, a digital asset custody and settlement platform, has entered into a collaboration with an affiliate of Circle Internet Group, Inc., a global fintech firm best known for issuing the USDC stablecoin. The partnership is intended to help financial institutions build and scale secure digital asset services.

By integrating Circle's stablecoin network with Fireblocks' institutional-grade custody and payments infrastructure, the two companies aim to enable cross-border treasury functions, tokenization, and settlement. Both firms see the collaboration as a step toward making stablecoin-based payments mainstream for banks, fintechs, and other organizations.

"By combining Circle's stablecoin expertise with our institutional infrastructure, we're empowering financial institutions to innovate with confidence," said Michael Shaulov, Fireblocks' Co-founder and CEO. Circle's Co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire added, "Together, we're creating a seamless infrastructure that makes it simple to harness the power of stablecoins for payments, treasury operations, and settlement."

The companies are positioning their combined offering as a solution for financial institutions under pressure to roll out new products that leverage stablecoins. These institutions often face challenges related to security, compliance, liquidity access, and an evolving regulatory environment. Fireblocks and Circle believe their partnership can reduce these barriers, enabling banks and payment providers to bring services such as custody, tokenized assets, and instant cross-border payments into production.

Through the integration, Fireblocks customers will gain access to Circle's stablecoins and services, including Circle Gateway, which consolidates balances across multiple blockchains for instant liquidity. This will be supported by Arc, a new enterprise-focused Layer-1 blockchain developed for stablecoin finance. Fireblocks has pledged early support for Arc, which could give thousands of institutions a foundation for building programmable money applications.

The collaboration also connects recent initiatives from both sides. Fireblocks recently launched its Network for Payments, designed to link payment providers, banks, and fintechs with secure stablecoin rails. Circle, meanwhile, rolled out its Circle Payments Network, which allows institutions to settle global payments with stablecoins. Together, the interoperability of these networks is expected to provide a more unified infrastructure for treasury management and payments across multiple use cases.
