Fintech company FIS has rolled out Neural Treasury, an AI-powered platform designed to enhance how businesses manage liquidity, cash flow, and risk. The launch reflects a broader industry push toward applying artificial intelligence to treasury operations that have long relied on legacy systems.

The suite combines machine learning, robotics, and a proprietary large language model called Treasury GPT, which is specifically built for treasury professionals. According to FIS, Treasury GPT will support enhanced data analysis, simplify configuration, assist in policy formulation, and provide access to best practices.

Other features include predictive analytics based on historical data to forecast cash flows more precisely, continuous monitoring of transactions to detect fraud, and automation of functions such as liquidity aggregation, reconciliation, and accounting. By automating routine tasks, the company says treasury teams can redirect focus toward strategy and growth initiatives.

"Corporate treasury departments are the financial nerve center of their organizations, but they're too often constrained by legacy systems," said JP James, head of Treasury and Risk at FIS. Neural Treasury, he added, aims to position treasurers as "strategic leaders" who can optimize cash positioning, forecasting, payment execution, and risk management.

Industry analysts welcomed the development. Kevin Permenter, Senior Research Director for Financial Applications at IDC, described Neural Treasury as a "notable advancement" that combines cloud-native infrastructure with AI to boost efficiency and reduce risk.

By making such tools available to companies beyond the largest multinationals, FIS said Neural Treasury expands access to advanced capabilities once restricted to highly complex organizations. Both large and mid-market firms are expected to benefit from its rollout.
