Fiserv Boosts In-Person Bill Payment Options with NCR Atleos ATMs

In a move aimed at expanding consumer access to convenient bill payment services, Fiserv, Inc. (NYSE: FI), a prominent global provider of payment and fintech solutions, has announced the extension of its CheckFreePay® network to include NCR Atleos Corporation's (NYSE: NATL) ATM network.

Cash-preferred consumers will now have the opportunity to pay a diverse range of household bills securely at thousands of ATM locations, including major U.S. retailers, grocery stores, convenience stores, and pharmacies.

The bill payment feature will initially be accessible at numerous Atleos ATMs already accepting cash, with further expansion planned as additional cash-in ATMs are deployed nationwide.

Brian Seemann, Fiserv's Senior Vice President of Biller Solutions, highlighted the significance of the move, stating, "Many consumers prefer to pay bills in person in cash, and CheckFreePay helps them streamline financial tasks with multiple ways to pay in places they visit every day," He added, "Adding a self-service bill payment option at thousands of Atleos ATM locations will expand consumer access to these capabilities while enhancing efficiency and increasing foot traffic for merchants."

Traditionally, cash-accepting ATMs have been prevalent in bank and credit union branches. However, the expansion of such ATMs in retail settings enables consumers to securely pay utility, phone, cable, insurance, credit card, auto, and other bills through self-service channels, reducing the need for counter assistance or checkout line payments.

Ben Bregman, Atleos' Vice President of Product Management, emphasized the mutual benefits of the partnership, stating, "Enabling reliable in-person bill payments via CheckFreePay allows us to expand financial access for consumers, providing them fast credit for funds received, and benefits merchants by building brand loyalty."

Through CheckFreePay, Fiserv holds the position of the largest processor of walk-in bill payments in the United States, offering over 30,000 bill-pay locations nationwide.
