FlexTrade Expands FX Liquidity with CME Spot and Futures Integration
FlexTrade Systems has expanded access to foreign exchange liquidity by connecting its FX trading platform to CME Group’s spot and futures markets. The integration allows clients to tap into additional liquidity pools without the need for new infrastructure or separate technical builds.
Through the new setup, FlexTrade’s FlexFX platform is now directly linked to CME’s EBS Market central limit order book and the FX Spot+ platform. Traders can route orders to both venues seamlessly via their existing order management interface. The move follows FlexTrade’s recent integration with LoopFX, which enabled dark-pool matching for large FX trades.
Anonymous Spot Pricing and Futures Liquidity in One Interface
EBS Market operates as an all-to-all anonymous order book, giving banks and institutional participants access to firm pricing without last-look practices. The venue supports both spot FX and non-deliverable forwards (NDFs) through a central limit order book model.
FX Spot+, meanwhile, bridges the over-the-counter spot FX market with CME’s futures ecosystem. By converting futures liquidity into spot-formatted prices, the platform enables spot traders to interact with futures liquidity through a single trading interface. CME launched FX Spot+ to close the long-standing gap between these two market structures.
Uday Chebrolu, Senior Vice President of FX and Digital Assets at FlexTrade Systems, said that ongoing innovation and partnerships are key to enhancing electronic FX trading.
“Bringing more FX liquidity into the EMS helps optimize electronic trading,” Chebrolu said. “The resulting data drives continuous improvements in trading performance, efficiency, and execution speed.”
Automated Routing via FlexAlgoWheel
FlexTrade’s existing automation tools will also support the new CME connections. The FlexAlgoWheel smart-routing system can now factor in liquidity from EBS Market and FX Spot+, alongside other connected venues, when making execution decisions.
Paul Houston, Global Head of FX Products at CME Group, highlighted the importance of the integration, noting that EBS Market continues to play a critical role in global FX trading. He added that FlexTrade clients can now more easily access firm, anonymous pricing on EBS spot and NDF markets, as well as FX Spot+, which enables spot traders to engage with FX futures liquidity in spot format
Broader Expansion of Venue Connectivity
Other trading platforms have also been strengthening their CME connectivity. Integral integrated both EBS Market and FX Spot+ last year, while CME recently partnered with FairXchange to provide execution analytics for EBS Direct users.
FlexTrade has been steadily expanding its ecosystem through multiple partnerships, including a previous collaboration with KCx Analytics to deliver AI-driven market insights, as well as an earlier integration with CMC Markets to provide CFD liquidity.
The latest CME integration significantly lowers the technical burden for FlexTrade clients seeking access to CME venues, allowing firms to activate new liquidity connections without deploying separate infrastructure or managing additional APIs.
