Former U.S. Treasury official, Jeffrey A. Goldstein joins FIS Board of Directors

Financial services technology company FIS has announced the joining of Jeffrey A. Goldstein to the company’s Board of Directors.
Mr Goldstein is a Senior Advisor to Canapi Ventures, a venture capital firm, and Advisor Emeritus at Hellman & Friedman LLC, a private equity firm. He served as a managing director at Hellman & Friedman from 2004 to 2009 and from 2011 to 2016 and a Senior Advisor from 2016 to 2019. Mr Goldstein was the Chief Executive Officer of SpringHarbor Financial Group LLC from December 2016 through 2018. Before Hellman & Friedman, Jeffrey served as managing director and chief financial officer of the World Bank.
From 2009 to 2011, Jeffrey served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance and Counselor to the Secretary of the Treasury. In that role, he advised the Secretary on policy issues related to the U.S. banking and financial systems, financial stability, U.S. housing finance, regulatory reform, management of the U.S.
From 1984 to 1999, Mr Goldstein worked at James D. Wolfensohn Inc. and successor firms. He served as co-chairman of BT Wolfensohn and as a member of Bankers Trust’s management committee when Wolfensohn & Co. got purchased by Bankers Trust in 1996.
In 2009, Mr Goldstein was nominated by President Barack Obama to be Under Secretary of the Treasury for Domestic Finance. In 2011, he was awarded the Alexander Hamilton Award, the highest honour for a presidential appointee by Secretary of the Treasury Timothy F. Geithner.
Mr Goldstein has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and government and financial regulation. He has served on the board of directors of Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (since 2014) and the board of trustees of Vassar College. He was formerly a director of Westfield Corporation, LPL Financial Holdings, Inc., Edelman Financial Services, AlixPartners and Arch Capital Group and an advisory board member of Grosvenor.

Earlier in his career, Mr Goldstein taught economics at Princeton University and worked at the Brookings Institution. Jeffrey earned his Ph.D., M.Phil., and M.A. in economics from Yale University, his B.A. in economics from Vassar College and attended the London School of Economics.
