Fraudsters Impersonate Belgium FSMA Employee to Swindle Consumers

The Belgium Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA) yesterday has issued a warning against fraudsters who usurp the identity of the FSMA to take money from consumers or to trick them into revealing information.
Specifically, these fraudsters usurp the FSMA's name and logo, and impersonate its employees to mislead consumers, and reach victims using email addresses including no-replyfsma@outlook.com, ldavis@finglobalsolution.com and recovery@tfsma.com. They are contacting victims of investment fraud, promising that they can recover the money they lost.
The Belgian watchdog notes that the fraudsters send letters as following to potential victims:

The FSMA urges consumers to exercise utmost caution if they receive unsolicited messages and, in particular, not to respond to any requests to transfer money for financial services or products that are supposedly offered by the FSMA.
The regulator has forwarded this information to the judicial authorities.
In February, the FSMA flagged 21 new fraudulent trading platforms that have appeared on the internet.
