From Campus to Career EBC's Mission with Mongolia's International University of Ulaanbaatar
Summary: EBC Financial Group partners with IUU to equip Mongolian youth with real-world finance skills through internships, lectures, and global career opportunities.
What happens when local ambition meets global opportunity? For us at EBC Financial Group, the answer came alive on 29 April 2025, during the Career Promotion Day at the International University of Ulaanbaatar (IUU), where we saw firsthand the drive and potential of Mongolia's youth. With 65% of the population under 35, this nation holds a youthful energy that can shape the future of finance—not just locally, but globally.
Our presence at the event wasn't just symbolic. It marked the beginning of a deeper, hands-on collaboration with IUU, a university that shares our belief in investing in real-world skills and industry relevance. We were proud to receive a formal letter of appreciation from IUU for our participation, which reinforced a shared commitment to preparing students for dynamic careers in financial services.

Connecting with Over 160 Future Leaders
Led by our Chief Operation Officer, Mrs. Tamir Baatar, alongside our Business Development team, we connected with more than 160 students from IUU's Economics and Business faculties. Through a mix of financial lectures, career forums, and virtual trading competitions, we offered students more than a brochure—we offered a glimpse into the fast-moving world of finance.
The result? Over 160 onboarding forms submitted by students who expressed strong interest in exploring future opportunities with us. Their enthusiasm sent a clear message: Mongolia's next generation is ready to go global, and we're here to support them every step of the way.
A Formal Agreement, A Practical Vision
That same day, we took a major step forward. EBC and IUU officially signed a Joint Cooperation Agreement, backed by Board Director Dr. Kang Yoyul. This agreement goes beyond ceremonial value—it lays the groundwork for tangible growth and skill-building among Mongolia's emerging finance talent.
Here's what the partnership delivers:
Up to 10 internship placements each year at our EBC Mongolia office, with select candidates offered opportunities in our international offices.
A full calendar of collaborative learning, including monthly financial lectures, ongoing career support, and virtual trading competitions to reinforce both theory and application.
A priority recruitment pipeline for IUU graduates, plus access to mentorship and research projects focused on Mongolia's economic landscape.
Why We Believe in This
"This partnership is more than a milestone for EBC in Mongolia, it's a testament to our belief that empowering youth with knowledge and opportunity strengthens entire economies," said Mrs. Baatar. "By equipping students with real-world skills, we're investing in the resilience and innovation of the financial sector."
She further shared, "We are proud to be part of an initiative that not only opens doors for young Mongolian talent but also builds enduring ties between industry and academia. EBC's vision is rooted in empowering the next generation with both knowledge and opportunity."
Global Roots, Local Commitment
This collaboration reflects a larger principle we uphold: bridging education with real market exposure. Our work with IUU stands alongside our long-term support for institutions like the Department of Economics at the University of Oxford, where we co-host the "What Economists Really Do (WERD)" series. The 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 editions focused on macroeconomic themes such as climate resilience, reinforcing our dedication to preparing students for critical global challenges.
As we continue investing in programmes that connect academic ambition with professional readiness, we remain committed to making these opportunities more accessible, more global, and more impactful—starting here in Mongolia.
