FTMO Completes Acquisition of OANDA Global Corporation
Czech prop trading firm FTMO has finalized its acquisition of OANDA Global Corporation, a major global online trading group. The deal closed on December 1 following a regulatory approval process that began earlier this year.

FTMO signed the purchase agreement with CVC Capital Partners’ CVC Asia Fund IV at the start of 2025. The firms did not disclose the transaction value. FTMO said OANDA will continue to operate as a standalone business.
The acquisition required approvals from five regulators and took roughly eight months to complete. FTMO received the final approval in November.
FTMO co-founders Otakar Šuffner and Marek Vašíček said the transaction marks a significant step in expanding the company’s presence across prop trading, brokerage, and related services. Šuffner described OANDA’s global licenses and regulatory footprint as aligned with FTMO’s long-term plans.
OANDA, founded in 1996, provides multi-asset trading, currency data, and analytics to retail and institutional clients. It operates regulated entities in major financial hubs including New York, Toronto, London, Warsaw, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney. CVC acquired the group in 2018.
OANDA CEO Gavin Bambury said joining the FTMO group will help accelerate the company’s growth and enhance its product offering.
Advisors to the deal included Milbank LLP for CVC, with Nomura and Santander acting as joint financial advisors. FTMO was advised by J.P. Morgan and Latham & Watkins LLP.
