FTMO Rolls out New Community and Loyalty Program Post-OANDA Acquisition

A month after the historic acquisition of OANDA by Czech-based FTMO, the prop trading firm is accelerating its growth with the launch of a new prop trading community and a loyalty program. These new developments signal a clear separation of OANDA's prop trading business, indicating its independent trajectory within the FTMO umbrella.
Desmond Leong, former Forex and CFD specialist at Forex Australia, praised the launch, calling it a significant step forward in the industry. In a LinkedIn post, Leong shared, "They definitely raised the game of what it means to run a loyalty program professionally—having deeply integrated CRM automation to reward users for purchasing, referring, and advocating." He also highlighted the addition of a full-fledged store where users can redeem their coins for discounts, adding, "It's an absolute beauty."
The acquisition deal, which was confirmed after regulatory approvals, marks a pivotal moment for the prop trading space as firms adjust to new industry regulations. These developments reflect the growing importance of compliance, which has led companies to seek partnerships with established trading brands like OANDA.
Leong further noted the industry's struggles with community-building, saying, "It's appalling to see prop firms still try to create communities and loyalty programs on Discord. How do you even reward your members if you don't know who they are on Discord?" He commended OANDA Prop Trader for swiftly establishing a robust and well-structured community, one that aligns with the interests of its users.
On February 4, Fazzaco reported that private equity firm CVC Capital Partners announced the sale of Retail FX and CFDs broker OANDA Global Corporation to prop trading firm FTMO Group.
