FTX Trading Limited (FTX), the leading global cryptocurrency exchange, has launched FTX Japan to expand its footprint in Japan.

According to the company, FTX Japan operated via FTX Japan K.K., formerly known as Quoine Corporation and renamed after FTX acquired its parent company, Liquid Group Inc.earlier this year. As a licensed Japanese crypto-asset exchange services provider and Type 1 Financial Instruments Business license holder, FTX Japan K.K "not only gives us a technological advantage, but also allows us to work directly with Japanese regulators in a transparent, constructive and positive manner," said Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of FTX and currently serving as Interim CEO of FTX Japan.

"Completing this acquisition earlier this year is a key step in achieving our goal of providing a global investor base with access to digital asset markets through a regulated entity," Sam added.

With the launch of FTX Japan, FTX can provide the Japanese crypto community with industry-leading products and services, including spot trading and perpetuals for a wide range of digital assets such as BTC, ETH, SOL, FTT, and more.

In addition, fast deposits and withdrawals services of Japanese Yen are also available for local customers.

FTX's new launch comes after Japan has recently become one of the first major economies to introduce legal framework for Stablecoins. As Sam concluded, "Japan is a highly regulated market with a potential market size of almost $1 trillion when it comes to cryptocurrency trading," the cryptocurrency exchange has focused on Japan as part of its international expansion.
