Brett Harrison, president of FTX US, plans to step down after over one year of service at the giant crypto exchange. Zach Dexter, current CEO of FTX US Derivatives, will succeed Harrison as president.
As seen on his Linkedin profile, Brett has been with FTX US since May 2021. Prior to this, he previously worked for nearly two years at Citadel Securities, a leading global market maker, where he most recently served as Head of Semi-Systematic Technology. Over the course of his career, he also spent for more than one and half year with Headlands Technologies LLC, a global quantitative trading company based in Chicago, London, and San Francisco. Before this, liquidity provider and market maker Jane Street utilised his services as Head of Trading Systems Technology from August 2010 to January 2018.
According to Brett, over the next few months he will be transferring his responsibilities and moving into an advisory role at the company. He is remaining in the industry with the goal of removing technological barriers to full participation in and maturation of global crypto markets, both centralized and decentralized.
Harrison's departure comes at a time when FTX US won the bidding war against digital-asset investment firm Wave Financial to buy the assets of bankrupt Voyager Digital.
