FTX.US Appoints Ryne Miller as General Counsel

Fazzaco learned that FTX.US, the U.S. affiliate of crypto exchange FTX, has appointed Ryne Miller as its general counsel.
In his new role, Mr Miller will be responsible for ensuring FTX.US remains responsive to, and compliant with, emerging U.S. and global regulatory policies.
Mr Miller joins FTX.US from Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, an international white-shoe law firm, where he most recently served as a partner. Before this role, Mr Miller worked as legal counsel to Chairman Gary Gensler at U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). During his tenure of office, he also worked as Attorney Advisor from June 2010 to May 2012.
As seen on his Linkedin profile, Mr Miller's career began at McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma's largest law firm. He left the company after spending over 1 year. Over the course of his career, Mr Miller has also worked at NYU School of Law and U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
As Fazzaco reported earlier, FTX has intended to cut leverage limit to 20x from 100x, according to its CEO Sam Bankman-Fried. Sam said that high-leverage trading makes up a small percentage of the exchange's trading volumes and is only used by a small portion of its user base. Additionally, he pointed out that the average amount of leverage used on the exchange is only around 2X.
