According to its President Brett Harrison, the US exchange could have or should have started offering digital asset futures a long time ago. But it took an interest in collaborating with the CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission) to be able to offer those products in the US.
Harrison clarified that FTX.US had two choices when it comes to offering derivatives in the United States: either to apply for its own license or through acquisition. However, the exchange has not decided which way it would take.
At the beginning of August, Fazzaco reported that FTX.US has appointed Ryne Miller as its general counsel.
