Funding Traders Group Ltd., a proprietary trading firm, has announced it has restored access to the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform for its users. The company stated that this follows its incorporation in Saint Lucia.

In a post on the social media platform X, the firm stated: "MetaTrader 5 is officially back—this time, with our own license. After months of preparation, we've secured an MT5 license." The reintroduction of the MT5 platform by Funding Traders occurs after a period during which several proprietary trading firms, including Funding Traders, faced restrictions related to licensing. In early 2024, MetaQuotes, the developer of MT5, limited access for firms that lacked direct agreements or were operating in jurisdictions with regulatory concerns. These measures reportedly had a particular impact on firms offering services to U.S. clients without the necessary authorizations.
Funding Traders' decision to incorporate in Saint Lucia is presented as aligning with what is described as a broader trend among prop firms seeking alternative jurisdictions to comply with MetaQuotes' updated requirements. By shifting its operational base and obtaining the necessary licensing, the firm has reportedly re-enabled MT5 access for its user base located outside of the United States. The provided information notes that another firm, Funding Pips, also recently reintroduced MT5 after previously losing access to MetaQuotes products due to regulatory issues and subsequently obtaining a direct license from MetaQuotes.
