Futu Holdings Reports More Than Doubling of Net Income in Q2 2025

Futu Holdings recorded a sharp rise in profitability during the second quarter of 2025, as volatile trading conditions and high-profile initial public offerings boosted activity across its global client base.
The Hong Kong-headquartered online brokerage reported net income of HK$2.57 billion (US$327.7 million) for the quarter ending June 30, a 113% increase from a year earlier. Revenue climbed nearly 70% to HK$5.31 billion (US$676.6 million). Total trading volume surged to HK$3.59 trillion (US$457.5 billion), more than double the level in the same period last year.
CEO Leaf Hua Li attributed the momentum to strong retail interest. "Trade policy-induced market volatility, coupled with a slate of high-profile IPOs, boosted retail sentiment in Hong Kong, which, for the third quarter in a row, contributed the highest number of new funded accounts across all markets," he said.
The company added over 204,000 new funded accounts during the quarter, lifting total funded accounts to 2.88 million. International expansion also continued, with more than half of accounts now outside its Hong Kong securities business. Recent initiatives included launching crypto trading in most U.S. states and sponsoring the New York Mets to enhance brand visibility.
