FXCM Group Reports an Increase on Crypto Spreads in January

FXCM Group, a leading provider of online FX trading, CFD trading and related services, recently announced that it has released the monthly execution data for January 2021, showing an increase of the cost for getting in and out of crypto trades.

According to the press release, the traders are charged on average 53.2 pips on the BTC/USD pairing, significantly higher compared to 33.9 pips reported in December 2020. For the ETH/USD and LTC/USD pairings, the broker charged its traders on average 1.9 and 0.4 pips respectively, which is also higher than the prior month.

According to figures stated in the report, the average spread on the EUR/USD, GBP/USD and AUD/USD pairs were 0.1, 0.3, and 0.2 pips respectively.

In addition, FXCM also released its slippage statics for January 2021, showing that 62.1% of orders were executed at price, 24.8% of orders were executed with positive slippage and 13.1% of orders were executed with negative slippage. The average order execution time was 32 milliseconds in January, compared to 29 in the last month.

The company further released the volume increases in its proprietary stock basket product line for January, which combines the shares of multiple companies from one sector into a single tradeable instrument. FXCM now boosts a portfolio of thirteen stock baskets.
